Domestic Violence Shelters

The Rotary Club of Niwot actively supports local domestic violence shelters by providing financial support and education.   Recognizing the critical need for safe havens and resources for survivors in our area, our club is committed to fostering safety and raising awareness.  In January, 2025, the Rotary Club of Niwot hosted the 1st annual Burns Dinner, raising $9000 for local domestic violence shelters.    The Rotary Club of Niwot strives to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and families impacted by domestic violence within our community.
OUR Center
The Outreach United Resource Center, Inc. (OUR Center) provides critical services such as food, clothing, housing, and utilities to help families achieve self-reliance, offering "a hand up, not a hand out" to residents of the St. Vrain Valley School District.  Rotary Club of Niwot volunteers regularly prepare and serve meals to over 100 families/month.

Pat Murphy is Recipient of the 2024 Eli Buzas Award

Rotary Club of Niwot is proud and honored to present the 2024 Eli Buzas Community Service Award to Pat Murphy. The award is the Niwot Club’s highest recognition and is conferred annually on a member of the Niwot community whose work and service notably reflects the values and legacy of our late colleague, Eli Buzas.

A 50-year member of the Niwot community, Pat has been widely active in every aspect of community life.  Pat was a long-time volunteer at the Niwot schools.  She co-founded the Patriotic Cookie Moms, organizing treats and morale support for our troops. She was the instigator of the Niwot Community Connections (NCC) group, which now boasts >500 senior members of the community who connect regularly through their areas of interest.  She has worked politically with Boulder County to protect Niwot’s character and help preserve our open space.  Pat is a longtime member of the Board of Directors of the Niwot Community Association and, as part of her work with it, organizes the Niwot Clean-up Day, and helps with the annual Easter Egg Hunt and Easter and July 4th Pancake Breakfasts.  And perhaps even more importantly, those that know Pat personally can attest that she is always there to lend a hand or a kind word when someone is in need.

True community achievement comes from the heart.  True achievers care about people. They believe in their community and they stay with it over the course of time. Pat Murphy is an outstanding example of such true achievers.
